This mixed-use project will be developed by an all-minority team. Nubian Square Ascends will offer retail, entertainment, Artists Housing, commercial uses and a 300-space parking garage. Richard Taylor, Managing Partner of Nubian Ascend Partners is a commercial real estate expert, a proven business and university leader, with measurable success in creating new ventures, departments and projects. He has developed more than $300 million worth of projects nationwide in the residential, retail and commercial sectors, including Douglass Plaza, Olympia Tower, Fountain Hill and Bradford Estates. An experienced leader, Richard has overseen government agencies, divisions of major companies and university programs. Richard has a track record of effectively creating new entities, from his role as Founding President of the Minority Developers Association to his current role as Founding Director of Suffolk University?s Center for Real Estate. Richard attended Harvard Law School and Harvard Business School. He was the first Rhodes Scholar at Boston University, where he obtained a B.S. in Communications. He received a second Bachelor?s from Oxford.
Tamara Roy, AIA, Principal at Stantec Architecture Boston was named one of Boston's "Top 50 Power Women in Real Estate" and was the 2016 President of the Boston Society of Architects. Tamara has designed over a dozen visible projects in Boston that speak to her passion for color, sustainability, community engagement, and affordability. She has championed innovations in housing, workplace, retail, education, and master planning. Nicknamed, "the mother of the micro-unit", she helped the City of Boston write their Compact Living Pilot policy. She also teaches design studios at MassArt, sharing her network with her students to help diversify the pipeline of architecture graduates, and she is an outspoken advocate for women and minorities in Boston.
Jared Lachapelle, Vice President of Pre-construction, Consigli Construction Co., Inc. As a Consigli veteran bringing over 21 years of experience to his role, Jared oversees the company's estimating and pre-construction efforts across all regions and markets. Jared is a member of Consigli's leadership team and has contributed to scaling the company from a local, Massachusetts-based contractor to one of the largest General Contractors in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic with nine regional offices and over $2 billion in annual revenue. Jared has grown the Pre-construction and Estimating departments to over 60 people. Jared is focused on providing clients with a world-class experience. He has championed standardized tools, programs, and processes driven to provide predictable results, while recognizing that unique customer goals are achieved through customization and adaptability.
